I wouldn’t mind seeing Marshall, Kodua & Mubama line up together up front with the two lines behind them being experienced first teamers that are available.

correct, but gaslighting lubricant has no interest in the football. just defending the honour of moyes

I’d start Cornet and keep the permanently useless Benrahma firmly on the bench. But Moyes seems to have a pathological hatred of Cornet so that won’t happen.
Fuck knows why he bought him.

Am going out of sympathy for a mate as no other cunt wanted to go with him, so I expect to be very cold and bored.

Thanks to VAR and moyes utter dross I haven't even watched a game on TV since I went to Lincoln and I'm guessing it hasn't improved 😄

We all know that Moyes will stick 10 men behind the ball against a mid table Championship side. If he does that we will lose a dour cup tie by the odd goal.

Moyes needs to grow a pair and start Marshall and Mubama up front together and get into them. Would far rather go down fighting than meekly surrender only for Moyes to come out afterwards blaming injuries and the Africans... the man has had four years to assemble a squad that should be capable of defeating Bristol City.

Ludo - We won't be sticking 10 men behind the ball against a mid table championship side and meekly surrendering, and it's just plain stupid to start both kids up top. Sorry, but who made you the expert?

We should have more than enough to get the job done even with our 3 best players missing.

Re: ⚽ Bristol City v West Ham - Official Match Thread - Preview
I just imagined the first tie then did I Manuel 'cos that's exactly what I saw for large chunks of the game and that was with our one decent forward outlet available.

Danny Ings then anyone?

There is absolutely no point playing Ings (or Mubama) on their own up top which is why I was advocating a pairing of Marshall and Mubama. They have at least played together for the U21s and as Marshall didn't play for the youths yesterday it isn't too much of a stretch to imagine / hope that he might be involved tonight.

Is that's okay with you Manuel?

Re: ⚽ Bristol City v West Ham - Official Match Thread - Preview
Ludo - Let's see later son, but we won't be starting with both kids up top, clearly Ings will start, so maybe we will have to want until another time to find out if you are on to something or not with the kids up top. Funny enough, despite Antonio generally being deplored on here we could use him now had he not slipped at Rush Green, ffs.

A scrappy 1-1, and through on penalties

Re: ⚽ Bristol City v West Ham - Official Match Thread - Preview
One problem we had last game was that they tended to an extra man in midfield as they seem to try to overload that area as much as possible. It started to be effective second half as they began to get the second ball and deny us space to play thru to the forwards or down the side with even Emerson hardly getting forward. Obviously losing Paqueta played a part too. But when you have a midfield shorn of Paqueta and containing Soucek ( the slowest Prem midfielder of the past 10-15 years ) you are gonna struggle to create much from open play and forwards can be starved of service.

He should play Cornet at some point but don’t expect to see him to 75th minute. He’s the best in terms of control passing and pace we have although obviously not fully match fit having only played 120 mins this season , hardly any games last season and any game he does appear in it as a sub and not the Premiership.

We will be relying heavily again on Alvarez and JWP in the middle against their 4 or 5 in there. Fornals and Soucek run about a lot but off the pace and Benny doesn’t contribute much winning the ball or pressing either.

Our best hope is to not concede and get one from a set piece. Hence Moyesball will line the order of the day

Re: ⚽ Bristol City v West Ham - Official Match Thread - Preview
Yep, if you think about it Ward-Prowse is our only chance of a bit of magic in the midfield and Alvarez will be busy. If they can get a stranglehold on the midfield battle then maybe those coming in can shine alongside any good work they both do.

Otherwise settle in for some Moyesball and watching Bristol City play the football.

2-0 win, in a typical scrappy F A Cup tie.

Another clean sheet and another win on the road.

Just hope we don’t pick up any more injuries.

winning the FA cup does gain qualification to the Europa league so you would think it would be taken more seriously than the Carabou thing?

But Moyes approach of using a 14 man squad ( not arrempting to develop a larger one ) means he is like the stereotypical man unable to multi task :-). I reckon he is focused on the league as he sees that as our best chance of European football again be it the Europa or Conference. Achieve that and he strengthens his hand with Sullivan and almost certainly gets his contract renewed.

So no surprise if we are dumped out tonight imo and thus his team selection will be no surprise to 99% of the fan base. Formals, Benrahma and Ings will start for Bowen, Kudus and Paqueta. Slow and old is the way :-(

Ings was bigged up by Moyes for his 20 min cameo against Bristol so obviously he will start instead of Mubama

Bet ur house on it :-(

IIs this on the telly or on a stream, does anyone know?

I think we'll lose this personally. It says something that we've been pretty lucky with injuries this past couple of seasons, played a couple of teams who's tactics have been to kick our best, most creative players out of the game and it worked. I expect more of the same tonight.

You can hear Manning in the dressing room now, 'a freezing cold Tuesday night in a proper ground with baying supporters smelling blood? Let's get stuck into those pampered cunts early doors' *or insert any trite barely articulate football manager nonsense.

I'll be controversial here but has anyone else noticed how reluctant JWP is to make any kind of tackle? Good player but a bit of a poof when it comes to rolling your sleeves up and taking one for the team.Alvarez and Tommy have got their work cut out for them tonight.
